Primary Intervention
The overarching aim of the intervention in the Primary phase of The Brookfield School is to support pupils to remain in mainstream education. To this end we can accept a limited number of pupils in our specialist classes for short term intervention placements.
As well as following the national curriculum, we focus on strategies which support self-regulation, the development of social skills and building self-esteem and resilience through 1:1 and small group activities. For some intervention pupils, there is also the opportunity to experience outdoor learning at Dinedor during their time with us.
Schools may refer pupils directly to the Deputy Head Teacher or through a joint referral with the Herefordshire Behaviour Team, the Social Inclusion Officer or SEN Team.
