Our main focus this term is to welcome the new class, settle into the classroom environment and make new friends. As well as learning the class rules and routines.

In English our main focus is the story ‘Stone Age Boy’ by Satoshi Kitamura. We will be studying the book, sequencing it as well as creating our own alternant endings to the story. We will be adding computing skills to the English lessons by typing up work as well as using our daily phonics lessons to help the class work independently.

This term we have linked our Art and History to the Stone Age (prehistory) to fit in with our English topic. We will be drawing cave pictures, using clay to create Stone Age tools and spears as well as exploring different mediums when creating pictures, such as water colours and sketching. In History we will be exploring in detail the different parts of the Stone Age, looking at how life changed throughout and comparing it to our lives now.

Our Science topic this term will be states of matter, we will learn about all of the different states of matter, identifying them in our surroundings. We will study how states of matter can change, looking at scientific language and seeing if a change can be reversible or not.
